Manhattanville College is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports,
performing account reconciliations, assisting with close processes, conducting internal audits, performing payroll reconciliations and
maintaining accounts payable documentation. The position reports to the Controller.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
· Prepare general ledger reconciliations for various accounts
· Monitor prepaid
assets, deposits, all student deposits and maintain the monthly roll-forward schedule
· Validate and record all month end
accrual entries. Coordinate booking the monthly accruals and monitor the accrual activity and impact on the departments
·
Review transactions and ensure proper application of policies and procedures
· Completion of month-end, year-end and audit
schedules and analyses
· Assist in processing bi-weekly, student and monthly payroll
· Assist in completing
payroll reconciliations, as needed
· Assist with the month-end closing process
· Additional duties as
assigned

Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree
required in accounting from an accredited four-year college
· Minimum two to three years of accounting experience including
preparation of reconciliations, analyses and journal entries
· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
· Strong communication and team skills
