JOB DESCRIPTION:
Are you interested in joining SAIC to be part of our partnership providing high quality engineering advisory services, system planning, integration, and architecture to our government intelligence agency customer? Then consider joining the members of the Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architecture team as they aid our customer in collaborating, integrating, and standardizing the engineering approach across the customers enterprise.
We have on-going requirements for a Principal Systems Engineer to support the government customer’s National Integrated Tactical RF Operations (NITRO) organization at their Fort Meade Maryland facility. The selected individual will directly support the customer’s systems engineering planning for future overhead SIGINT systems to include fully documenting system requirements and through participation, as customer representative to the intelligence community engineering and planning processes focused on the development of the next generation of overhead SIGINT systems. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of current overhead SIGINT capabilities to include both their use and operations as well as the associated ground processing architecture. The candidate should also have proven skills in writing technical documentation, especially as related to clearly articulating requirements for complex systems.
The selected systems engineer will work closely with the National Security Agency (NSA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), national-level customers, and military services to capture and document the requirements for the next generation systems. The effort requires participation in numerous meetings, working groups, and integrated product teams, product reviews, and status meetings to monitor the systems engineering plans, development, and deployment of space and ground processing systems. The Systems Engineer will work closely with government Systems Engineers to ensure NSA plans are effectively aligned with those developed by NRO engineers. The goal is seamless integration across both enterprises. The systems engineer will be a key member of the team charged with the production of solid documentation of the customers’ requirements and a mapping of where, when and how those requirements will be satisfied by capabilities to be deployed across the extended IC enterprise as the next generation collection and processing systems are fielded. The selected Systems Engineer will directly participate in structured analysis of alternatives (AoA) decision making processes as plans work through the appropriate decision gates. To be successful, the selected individual must be able to communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
