Job Position: Logistics Manager (USA)

Location: Ontario, CA 91761

Pay Rate: Starting at $70,000.00 annually

Shift: 6am to 2:30pm

Global manufacturer of beautiful, innovative habitats for live animals and fish and revolutionary veterinary clinical housing is looking to hire a Logistics Manager for their Ontario, CA, location. Hours for this position are 6am to 2:30pm.

The Logistics Manager will report to the Director of Operations and will work with both internal and external contacts. Qualified candidates will be responsible for all supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods, assessing budgets, and organizing storage. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail in order to oversee daily operations and department employees.

In addition to having excellent organizational skills, the Logistics Manager should also possess in-depth knowledge of logistics and inventory systems.

Duties:

• Select carriers and negotiate contracts and rates.
• Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries, including international shipments
• Supervise all logistics activities including daily UPS/Fed-Ex shipments.
• Manage all shipping department activities including coaching and mentoring employees.
• Organize warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
• Respond to any issues or complaints, regarding delays, lost shipments and freight damage.
• Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
• Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
• Evaluate budgets and expenditures.
• Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.

Requirements:

• Educated to bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience/background in a Logistic operations role
• Capability to work in a high intensity, fast-paced environment, dynamic global environment
• A positive and determined attitude, with a high level of confidentiality
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Exceptional time management, anticipation and prioritization skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to be a self-starter with drive, initiative, and creativity
• Curious in nature and always looking to question, learn and look for better ways to do things
• Ability to deal with customers issues in a polite and courteous manner
• Ability to work under pressure to strict timelines

Compensation:

• Starts at $70k
• Benefits include: medical and dental, 3 weeks vacation based on accrual, paid holidays, 401k with 4% match, annual bonus subject to the achieving annual targets, direct deposit and bi-weekly pay.
