Will be responsible for directing, planning, development, implementation, and administration of most or all of the Human Resources functions including, but not limited to, employment, recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain HR policy to stay up to date with current federal, state, and local standards and laws
Educate and communicate company personnel policies and procedures to newly hired and current employees
Responsible for onboarding newly hired employees: employee handbook overview, employment documents, safety training, and benefit enrollment
Administer benefits including medical, dental, short term disability, life, and 401(k)
Coordinate filing and retention of all Compliance documents
Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation injury claims. File reports with the state, insurance provider, maintain accident information, and monitor progress.
Coordinate, administer, and support employee training initiatives
Apprentice administration and recordkeeping
Learn Payroll processing and payroll recordkeeping as a back-up for the Accounting Department
Participate in Safety Committee meetings and initiatives
Drive HR in finding, hiring, and keeping employees.
Establish and maintain department records, personnel files, and employee training
Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team
Uphold professionalism by providing courteous customer service to employees, visitors, clients, and vendors
Performing other duties as assigned
Observe all safety rules & regulations Compliance of quality system requirements
Compliance of customer, regulatory and statutory requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field experience preferred
2-3 or more years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Broad generalist background preferred
Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent computer skills
Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format
Exhibit extraordinary discretion and trust with confidential material and matters
Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment
Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
