Liberty Mutual Insurance Hiring for HR Operations Supervisor Job at Remote Full Time

Oversees a team of talent operations associates who deliver an exceptional HR service experience to employees, managers, and internal partners enterprise wide. The talent operations team manages administration related to new hires, terminations, leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, in addition to fielding general HR-related inquiries. The supervisor ensures compliance and mitigates organizational risk through consistent and timely application of HR policies and state/federal laws and regulations. Leads and/or participates as a subject matter expert in various HR projects and initiatives-including vendor RFPs, Workforce Transitions, Acquisitions/ Integrations, implementation of technology enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day to day operations by managing the workload and capacity for the team. Ensures work is managed within service level agreement guidelines and customer service needs are consistently and effectively met. Manages and resolves escalations timely and thoroughly.
• Utilizes key metrics and KPIs to inform decision making, in addition to assisting in the identification of any problematic trends, taking steps to avoid recurrence, and appropriately escalating issues as needed.
• Proactively selects top talent, provides on-going coaching, and rewarding and recognizing employees to reinforce behavior that ensures service excellence.
• Ensures team receives initial and on-going technical and non-technical training, keeps informed of any changes to HR programs, policies, processes, or department procedures and communicates timely and effectively to team members.
• Takes a leadership and/or active role in vendor relationships, including providing feedback, establishing quarterly vendor relations meetings, holding accountable to SLAs and KPIs. Partners with Procurement team as needed.
• Manages the complexities associated with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Proactively, partners with Employee Relations, Employment Legal and other key stakeholders to ensure appropriate application of legislative, corporate policy and HR program changes. Also ensures that all record retention guidelines are met.
• Participates as process lead and manages the complexities associated with new technology and systems implementations – including People at Liberty, Talent Services Hub, Time and Leave Management, and multiple other HR Systems. May also include partnering with Product Owners and IT to support on-going systems testing, research of an issue to assess the problem and offer solution/or work to implement fix.
• Advocates continuous improvement by conducting team huddles, performing process walks, encouraging team to bring forth issues/potential solutions, conducting root cause problem solving sessions, and updating Standard Work guides and other process tools/templates.

Qualifications

• Overview of the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities that are typically required to perform the duties of the role
• In lieu of any required and/or preferred technical/managerial experience, participation in a company-wide sponsored rotational assignment program that provides broad exposure to multiple functions within the organization would be considered
• Bachelor`s degree or equivalent training, in addition to 3 to 5 years of progressively more responsible operations work experience, preferably within HR
• Prior experience acting in a lead capacity, to include providing technical guidance to others in a work group and providing training to more junior staff
• Ability to assign, direct, and evaluate the work of staff members; prepare written procedures; work independently and make sound judgments; interpret and apply rules, policies, and procedures; deal tactfully and effectively with customers
• Displays clear ability to engage and motivate others
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required, including the ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to handle difficult situations of a sensitive nature in a calm and professional manner
• Requires the ability to exercise judgment in prioritizing work, responding to customer needs, and in determining when an inquiry/request requires higher-level involvement
• Displays solid research skills, with the ability to locate relevant information efficiently and effectively among various sources
• Works well within a team environment, partnering with other members to meet customer needs
• Knowledge of administrative procedures, software applications (such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
• ) records management systems, and other business procedures and terminology
• Requires the ability to maintain confidential information
