Job Description
The AP Specialist position performs a variety of general accounting and clerical support tasks related to the efficient maintenance of accounts payable. They compile and maintain accurate records, reconcile statements, and issue payment to vendors in high volumes on a timely basis.
The ideal candidate for this position has previous Accounts Payable experience, is detail-oriented, comes with a positive attitude, and has strong organizational skills. They are proficient with computers and the internet, including accounting software such as Sage and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities:

· Receives, reconciles, and processes vendor invoices

· Reconciles statements with ledgers and ensures payments are made consistent with terms

· Maintains accurate and complete records of payments

· Ensures that all accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

· Performs other administrative duties and/or special projects as required

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED with some post high school education in accounting or business finance preferred

· One year of experience in a business office environment with accounts payable responsibilities

· Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills, notably MS Excel

· Experienced with business applications and accounting software

· Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and vendors

· Can work independently and without supervision when required

· Neat, clean, and professional appearance

· Sage experience a plus
