About This Role:
The Director serves as a manager and leader within the Enrollment Management and Marketing Division with direct responsibility for the development, implementation, direction, and assessment of academic support services for undergraduate students at Lamar University. In addition to overseeing existing programming and activities, the Director seeks to identify new tutoring, academic coaching, peer mentoring, and retention program opportunities within the Student Tutoring and Retention Services (STARS) area, and where appropriate, collaborate with university personnel on the development and execution of retention programming and initiatives across Lamar University. The Director is responsible for program evaluation, budget management, and communication with the university community. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of professional, paraprofessional, and peer student staff that support the programming and activities of STARS. The Director is responsible for promoting the mission and achieving the organizational goals of STARS, ultimately serving as its primary representative at Lamar University and in the surrounding community.What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
