The Department of Biology at Lafayette College is looking for candidates passionate about teaching introductory biology and dedicated to recruiting and retaining students in STEM. We invite applicants who are committed to excellence and equity in undergraduate education to apply for a Lecturer position, to begin Fall 2024. The Lecturer position is a two-year renewable position, with potential opportunity for promotion to Senior Lecturer. Demonstrated effectiveness using inclusive teaching practices is essential. Applicants should hold a PhD in a field of Biology and have broad or integrative training across the field.
The Biology Department offers three courses in its introductory sequence (Biol 111, 112, and 113). The successful candidate will teach the first two courses (Biol 111 & 112). The first course focuses on evolution, organismal physiology, and ecology. The second course focuses on cell and molecular biology. Both majors and nonmajors populate these courses.
