KLA Academy, an innovative school that is inspired by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia approach to education, is seeking an experienced full-time Kindergarten and elementary lead teacher to teach core curriculum; literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. This position works in collaboration with other members of our faculty. Three to five years of teaching experience in these grades is required.

Elementary Lead Teacher Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum with differentiated instruction to meet the learning styles of all students.
· Support the social/emotional growth of all students
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom, which supports and reflects students’ independent/group learning and growth.
· Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
· Assess student progress (through observation and documentation) towards learning objectives, goals, and/or expectations with the purpose of maintaining continuous and open communication with students, parents, and administration.
· Write personalized narratives, complete progress reports throughout the year, and hold conferences to provide feedback that effectively communicates the student’s progress.
· Maintain a cooperative educational team by maintaining parents informed and involved.
· Establish positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.
· Demonstrates respect for diversity and incorporates cultural values and beliefs within the classroom community.
· Attend and participate in on-going professional development, logistics meetings, parent meetings, school events, grade level meetings, and other aspects of our school life.
· Support teacher assistant and/or new co-teacher (when needed) in the above-mentioned skills to provide and maintain an effective and optimal learning environment’
