PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Extension Agents are community based professionals of Kentucky State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. The Extension Agent for Community Resource Development will develop, conduct and deliver educational programs based on locally identified needs in community, economic, and leadership development, as well as marketing, business retention and expansion, and assisting with general community needs, while prioritizing the needs of underserved and minority audiences. This position will be tasked with building community capacity and fostering a better quality of life for community residents. The Extension Agent for Community Resource Development is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating effective and comprehensive educational programs to assist community/civic organizations and small businesses with achieving their goals.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Extension Agent for Community Resource Development is a professional educator who provides education and leadership among community and civic groups, as well as small businesses. This agent will work closely with the KSU Community Resource Development Program Leader for all programmatic efforts. This agent will be a member of the off-campus Extension staff of Kentucky State University as part of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension System, which is composed of individuals and programs from both Kentucky State University and the University of Kentucky.
