Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Physiology faculty position in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology that begins August 2024.
Responsibilities
* Successful candidates will be expected to establish a productive, extramurally funded, nationally recognized research program that uses mouse or rat models to study human diseases and includes undergraduate and graduate student researchers.
* Teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is expected with an emphasis on active and experiential learning to promote the success of all students.
* Participation in professional service and support for student success within the Department, the College of Science and Mathematics, the University, and beyond is expected.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees, SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines, incumbent expertise, and departmental or college needs.
Required Qualifications
* An earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in biology or a closely related discipline, is required. ABD candidates may be considered, but required degree must be earned by July 31, 2024.
* A record of peer-reviewed publications (or accepted manuscripts).
* Experience teaching or mentoring undergraduate students.
Preferred Qualifications
* Postdoctoral experience.
* Record of success in obtaining extramural funding.
* A record of using evidence-based teaching practices at the university level that promote the success of all students.
* Record of mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.
* Record of professional service that engages the community and works to build an institution that benefits all students.
* Experience using animal models to study human diseases.
* Experience working in a vivarium or laboratory animal care facility.
