Job Summary
Serves as primary contact and manager for prospective students from a specific geographic territory. Coordinates high school and community college visits, and attends college fairs, programs and events to recruit students. Provides admissions counseling to prospective students on and off campus and assists them with navigating the university’s academic and co-curricular environment.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. In collaboration with undergraduate admissions leadership team, creates a comprehensive strategy for recruiting in assigned territory. Responsible for recruitment activities and achieving set recruitment goals as assigned
2. Counsels prospective minority and underrepresented student populations with goal of helping them apply, gain admission, and enroll at KSU
3. Provides accurate and timely information about academic and co-curricular program offerings, services, costs and financial aid to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, and other influencers. Develops and expands relationships with high school personnel, local alumni and other influencers to cultivate long term referral motivated relationships
4. Maintains personal contact with prospective students and their parents, high school counselors, teachers, and other influencers of prospective students from inquiry through enrollment
5. Expeditiously follows up with all new prospect inquires, applicants, and admitted students and their families to ensure they have all the information necessary to make an informed decision
6. Work involves extensive travel throughout assigned territory with some overnight and weekend workdays. Analyze travel return on investment, create reports, and provide regular feedback on recruitment activities
7. Ensures all prospect related actions are recorded in TargetX (CRM) to assist the Director in additional follow up with prospects and families
8. Remains abreast of changing policies/procedures in university admissions and enrollment services
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with university databases
Experience in admissions recruiting in an educational environment
Proposed Salary
The budgeted salary range is $45,900 to $50,460. Offers are based on relevant experience.

and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
