Department Information
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Curate University and local history exhibits based on our collections to educate and promote
use of the collections.
2. Manage social media platforms for University Archives & Special Collections
3. Assist with grant writing
Job Summary
Responsible for managing various aspects of archival and/or records management programs, including appraisal, scheduling and disposition of University records and managing archival, rare book and digital collections. Duties may include oversight of archives and records management vendors, acquisitions, accessions and collection development, archival processing and cataloging, arrangement, description, preservation, reference, development of exhibits, outreach and working to integrate collections into teaching and learning activities at the University. Coordinates areas within a museum or archival program, including but not limited to public programming, public relations, access, installation, and outreach. Develops and implements projects, workflows, and best practices for archival and/or records management programs.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage, develop and evaluate archival or records management programs
2. Preserve, develop and interpret collections, museum and archives items
3. Develop and perform special collections management projects
4. Engage KSU and the community with collections and programs by developing workshops,
lectures, exhibit openings and other public programs
5. Manage critical collection information in management systems
6. Develop policies and procedures for records and collection management workflows and processes
7. Oversee archive and records management vendors and systems
8. Develop promotional and outreach content for distribution and provides outreach for
educational programming
9. Manage researchers and reference requests from internal and external constituents
10. Supervise and coordinate volunteers, interns, student assistants and docents
11. Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies for archival and records management programs
12. Manage and deliver instruction sessions for KSU students and faculty
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in museums, archives or related field

Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Proposed Salary
he budgeted salary range is $36,100 to $51,600 . Offers are based on relevant experience.
