Job Summary
Oversees and manages the KSU Writing Center, which supports an institutional culture that recognizes writing as integral to the intellectual, professional, and social life of the university. High-achieving, trained peer tutors work one-on-one with writers from all disciplines; specialized assistance is provided through the Center’s English Language Program and Graduate Writing Program. Additional services include writing workshops, customizable class visits, co-curricular clubs and events, and online instructional handouts and Open Educational Writing Resources.
Manages activities related to academic support services and student success project and academic support staff within the college. Analyzes and prepares reports of data trends on student success and learning metrics. Participates in the development and implementation of student initiatives, activities, workshops, and events to support student engagement and success with the department, college, and university.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversees and manages activities related academic support services, including high impact practices such as internships and capstone projects, and student success projects
2. Supervises and leads assigned staff and/or student assistants
3. Provides support services to assigned students and/or college
4. Prepares academic support materials such as student information, academic guides and recruitment materials
5. Coordinates the collection, compilation and analysis of program activity data, prepares and presents comprehensive program reports and evaluation summaries
6. Facilitates and/or participates in orientation sessions, open house events and other student recruitment focused activities for the assigned college/department
7. Develops initiatives, policies and procedures to ensure that students receive needed information, services and support
8. Ensures effective and timely communication with students for all student success program initiatives within the department
9. Coordinates with the advising director, department leadership and faculty
10. Utilizes the approved software platforms that track student engagement in and outside of the classroom
11. Serves as the liaison between the software system and users (students, faculty and student organizations)
12. Assists leadership with the development of strategic initiatives and evaluates and identifies areas for improvement across assigned departments
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Required Experience
Two (2) years of relevant work experience

Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in an Advising or Career Services unit
Previous experience in operations and/or management
Previous supervisory experience

This is a supervisory position.
