Kearney & Company is seeking an Associate to join our team supporting one of the Federal government’s largest agencies! The candidate will be primarily responsible for performing planning, auditing, wrap-up, and reporting procedures for the AOUSC cyclical audit engagement. The candidate will assist senior auditors and managers in completing work papers to assess the court’s compliance with AOUSC policies and procedures, including collections and deposits, financial reporting, Criminal Justice Act (CJA) processes, budget management, payment authorization processing, travel card programs, accountable property management, PACER, small purchase credit card program, reconciling statement of differences, time and attendance, and inspection of firearms and seized property. Each of these areas is subject to interviews, observations, and sample testing. The candidate is expected to become familiar with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) issued by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to perform his or her duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field of study
- Possess excellent professional, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable conducting interviews in various types of environments
- Domestic travel is required for this position and can reach as much as 75%
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
