Supplemental Instruction (SI) Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Director of Learning Support Services, the SI Coordinator (Professional Services Specialist 4) is responsible for coordinating Supplemental Instruction activities provided to students and for performing basic professional functions for the grant program using established policies, procedures and guidelines; and does related work as required. The SI Coordinator supervises undergraduate SI leaders to maintain a high quality of instruction/mentoring and ethical conduct within SI program operations. This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of supporting grant funds. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours and may require travel.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience working as a program coordinator in higher education or working in a related professional position is required. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the one year of required experience. Knowledge of peer-facilitated academic assistance programs (preferably experience with the SI model); student mentoring programs (preferably experience with an alumni mentoring model); and strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience coordinating/providing supplemental instruction is preferred.
