Other Conditions: Contingent on course offerings and student demand, to begin Spring 2024, pending position clearance, availability of funds, and actual staffing requirements. The position may be converted from 9 to 11 months or 11 to 9 months based on operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
The program administrator must have a full-time commitment to the institution and an appointment which provides time for program operation, evaluation and revision. In accordance with CODA standard 3-2, the program administrator must have the authority and responsibilities for: Budget preparationFiscal administrationCurriculum development and coordinationSelection and recommendation of individuals for faculty appointment and promotionSupervision and evaluation of facultyDetermining faculty teaching assignments and schedulesDetermining admissions criteria and proceduresScheduling use of program facilitiesDevelopment and responsibilities to maintain CODA accreditation compliance and documentationThe Program Administrator must be responsible for program effectiveness, including outcomes, organization, administration, continuous review, planning, and development. Under general supervision, design, deliver, and assess instruction in Dental Assisting in terms of student-learning outcomes; develop and/or update course content and materials and teaching and assessment strategies and methods to:improve student attainment of learning outcomes; address the learning needs of the college’s diverse students;integrate thinking and writing skills into course content, as appropriate; anduse technology to support instruction.Plan, organize, and independently carry out independent instructional and non-instructional assignments.Perform other teaching-related duties that include, but are not limited to, preparing course syllabi and maintaining office hours for academic advising and for conferring with students about course work (one office hour per week per three-credit class). Regular workload may include evening and weekend classes, distance education classes, and teaching at off-campus sites.Non-teaching duties also include;working collegially to provide service to the department and college,engaging in public service related to one’s professional status and/or expertise,engaging in professional development.
