Position Summary: Full-time instructor for various drafting courses within the program. Instructor should be able to identify and apply the essential, basic skills of drafting. These include, measuring, geometric construction, sketching, isometrics, orthographic views, section views, dimensioning and auxiliary views.
Instructor should also be able to interpret and explain the various plan view drawings and elevation views, sections, details, schedules, specifications, symbols and abbreviations found on most residential and commercial construction drawings. Instructor will be responsible for teaching industry codes and standards which apply to mechanical and/or architectural and/or civil and/or structural drawings.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency using general computer and AV technology.
Industry level working knowledge of Architectural, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Drafting standards, codes, and detailing practices.
Industry level working knowledge of multi-view drawings, section drawings, auxiliary view drawings and dimensioning standards for architectural and/or mechanical drawings.
Industry level working knowledge or proficiency with AutoDesk 2020 or newer products, AutoCAD and/or Inventor and/or Revit.
Working knowledge of architectural and/or mechanical/machine industry prints.
Associate Degree in related field and 5 years of applicable industry work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry experience in a design environment.
Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu software.
Working knowledge of Fusion 360 software.
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in educational or industry setting.
Bachelor or Masters Degree in applicable field.
