Job Summary:
The Director of Community Standards and Title IX has responsibility for overseeing and managing JSU student conduct system, facilitates student community outreach, educational programming and training. The Director ensures that the student conduct system adjudicates all non-academic student conduct, and that student misconduct is supported by a philosophy of educating and supporting students while ensuring safety, security, and upholding the highest standards and expectations for ethical and responsible conduct.
The Director serves as the Title IX Coordinator and is responsible for overseeing institutional compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 Civil Rights Act (“Title IX”), the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2013 (“VAWA”), the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (“Campus SaVE”), and other related federal and state laws. In the discharging the duties of the position, the Director works closely with the Office of the Provost, Department of Human Resources, the Office of General Counsel, and other University administrators. The Director supervises the Assistant Director of Community Standards.
