Primary responsibilities include assisting with the administration and management of Federal, State, institutional, and private financial aid programs. Assist students through the financial aid process from initial application to final determination of eligibility and disbursement of funds. Respond to student, parent, and College staff inquiries regarding the financial aid process. Assist in responding to phone calls and the ACD line. Assist with walk-in visits from students and/or parents. Cross-train in all other financial aid processes. This position also supports the Corrections Education Program (CEP), therefore this position requires travel to the correctional facilities to assist with financial aid duties.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.1. Manage and monitor processing of all incoming internal and external mail. Provide materials and training for student workers, center staff and other student services team members to better assist students and prospects with financial aid needs.2. Assist in managing the workload for the financial aid student employee.3. Collect financial aid documents from students and review them for accuracy and request additional documentation as necessary.4. Assist in updating Colleague regarding student status and adjust awards on AIDE as needed.5. Assist with financial aid historical student records. Assist with financial aid scanning and retrieval on the Perceptive Content System.6. Manage and maintain the financial aid e-mail account and fax machine.7. Provide front-line support at the Student Services Nexus and answer the financial aid ACD telephone line.8. Review, make recommendations, and adjustments as necessary for professional judgement(s)9. Serve as a liaison for the CEP program10. Travel as needed to correctional facilities to support the CEP program; as such will need to pass a LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) clearance.11. Assist with other tasks in the financial aid office and in Student Services, as needed.12. Other duties as assigned.13. Responsible for understanding, supporting and actively demonstrating the College’s beliefs, values, mission and vision and being in agreement to be evaluated by same.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.CONTACTS AND PURPOSE OF CONTACTSInternal: Frequent contact with CEP staff, student development, business office, and information technology staff in information sharing/gathering and problem-solving capacity. Regular contact and collaborative work with other staff, faculty, and administration members.External: Frequent contact with students and parents often in stressful situations. Regular contact with the public and prospective students in a service providing capacity. Some contact may be required with the U.S. Department of Education Federal Pell Grant Program. Some work may be required with in the correctional facilities for Second Chance Pell.Minimum Qualifications
