Perform a variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and equipment to ensure efficient and continuous operation. Maintain building and equipment records and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures pertaining to the facilities operation. This position is considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work. The incumbent is subject to being on-call twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week on a scheduled basis.
Qualifications: High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years or 6,000 hours experience in at least one skilled area and the ability to read and follow basic schematics or blue prints and perform minor installation and repair. Knowledge of welding, repair of electronic devices, refrigeration and air conditioning techniques and repair of mechanical systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the ability to lift and carry 80 lbs. Experience and ability to operate a variety of power/hand tools and testing devices, possession of a valid Driver’s License and adherence to the requirements of the Office of Risk Management, and the ability to respond to calls twenty four hours per day seven days per week is required. The incumbent will be required to carry a pager on a rotating basis.
