IT Technician will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. They will “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.

How You’ll Create Possibilities

Primary duties:

• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.).
• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

Other related duties as assigned

• Provide Project Management with Digital Technology projects for the business
• Research and recommend Digital Technology related hardware, software and support providers and pursue quotes and perform product/vendor evaluations.

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Management of Technology, Electrical Engineering
• Five years’ experience in IT support duties.
• Strong computer systems skills.
• Work within manufacturing or industrial setting.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able and willing to work and support three shift operation as needed. Typical schedule will be day shift Monday – Friday with on-call schedule rotation.
• Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.
• Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 25 pounds.
• Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots.
