Current Need

We are searching for a IT Asset Manager in Irving, TX to join the team and focus on McKesson’s IT Asset Management Lifecycle Management processes.

Position Description

As an IT Asset Manager in McKesson Information Technology you will be involved in the analysis, oversight and reporting of lifecycle management activities related to refresh of technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess existing IT infrastructure and identify assets that are due for refresh.
• Proactively work with Engineering and Operations to plan refresh roadmap to ensure compliance with current standards and technology roadmap.
• Partner with Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management to tie extended support contracts to assets in Asset Repository.
• Maintain hardware and software lifecycle dates and phases in interim tool and setup lifecycle phases in the future state platform.
• Schedule regular education sessions with technology team members and product owners to share future key lifecycle dates for software and hardware.
• Publish a monthly report of technology assets supported position.
• Identify, size, obtain quotes and request approval for extended support as needed.
• Collaborate with technical teams and product owners to remediate technical debt.
• Provide budget information for technical debt remediation.
• Create a strategy and update schedule to address technical debt.
• Provide education to technology team members and product owners on upcoming support lifecycle dates that will impact McK infrastructure.
• Provide oversight to tech debt and lifecycle projects, report project status, ensure accurate forecasts, remove blockers as needed and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Escalate exceptions and ensure leadership alignment.
• Track and report on status of third-party lifecycle work.
• Formalize asset management processes for Lifecycle Management and Tech Debt reduction by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Create dashboards to automate reporting and tracking of infrastructure refresh opportunities and progress against goals.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

• In depth knowledge of Lifecycle Management including understanding of risks, challenges and mitigation strategies
• Experience managing a budget and forecasting expenses
• Familiar will third party hardware and software support and license models
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven researching ability
• Ability to analyze large amounts of complex data
• Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Finance or equivalent experience

Education

• Previous lifecycle management, software and hardware purchasing experience
• IAITAM certification a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Finance or equivalent experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$117,200 – $195,400
