For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service or equivalent qualifying educational accomplishment. Examples of specialized experience for this position could include:
– Experience working for a tax administration organization that provided the applicant with experience using tax administration programs or processes. OR
– Experience applying accounting and auditing principles, concepts and techniques to gather and analyze facts/data; And
– Experience organizing results of analysis to meet professional standards.

Education: 1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement based on a bachelor’s degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class); grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society.
OR
You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in auditing or a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
OR
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant’s background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
