Overview
Legacy Health seeks an interim VP Hospital Chief Medical Officer (VP CMO) for Legacy Health Willamette Region (Meridian Park Medical Center and Silverton Medical Center). This person will serve as an influential leader to promote safe, high quality care and clinical operations and contribute to the strategy, growth, operations and financial viability of the Willamette Region.
This is a limited duration employed interim role that is estimated to last for about 6-9 months.
The VP Hospital Chief Medical Officer will report to Legacy Health’s system CMO, with a dotted line relationship to the Willamette Region President. Working with the Willamette Region President and each Hospital Chief Operating/Nursing Officer, the VP CMO will serve as an influential leader to promote safe, high quality care and clinical operations and will contribute to the strategy, growth, operations and financial viability of the medical center and service area. They will play a leading role in promoting excellence and collaborating with clinical, service line, medical staff, and operational leadership. They will apply lean principles and the Legacy Operating System to oversee quality, patient safety and other physician/provider related initiatives. The VP CMO will work with medical center leadership, medical executive committee and Legacy Medical Group to evaluate and optimize the multidisciplinary team structure and lead the strategic growth of the medical staff. They will inspire and develop a physician and provider culture rooted in a commitment to excellence, quality, safety and above all else, doing the right thing.
Additionally, the VP CMO will be involved with Legacy Health’s system integration, working on quality and clinical initiatives that cross system lines in support of the overall organization. The VP CMO must know how to carefully balance the health system with the vision and goals of the medical center. They must leverage the value of the system while remaining focused on the day-to-day operations of the medical center and the community it serves.

Responsibilities
In addition to maintaining a clinical practice, the VP CMO will be charged with continuous improvement of medical center results, while adapting to changing internal and external circumstances and pressures.
This role will include some clinical practice.

The successful candidate will be a talented physician leader with experience as a clinical leader.
