Indy Urban Youth Music Academy Hiring for Health and Physical Education Teacher K-8 Job at Indianapolis, IN Full Time

Description: As an Health/PE instructor you are required to teach general physical education classes to students ranging in grades from K-8. Offering guidance through instruction in health/fitness with lesson plans, class activities and projects. As an academy we have partners who engage in our educational services for music, physical education, art and music technology/production.

Other: A formal 4 year degree in content area is not required. In proxy of a degree, any college credits, artist/teaching diploma or content area certifications, training and experience you can share is highlyencouraged. All applicants must provide a portfolio of personal work samples or evidence of class work samples from previous students taught. We will conduct a background check and may ask for 2-3 references in addition to your submitted resume during the interview process.

Class Session Duties:

• Develop lessons following the Indiana State Standards.

• Taking Daily attendance and Submission of Student Grades if applicable.
• Unit Projects and Evidence of student work actively on display throughout the quarter.

Requirements:

• Timeliness
• Professionally dressed and in uniform.
• Clean and organized work space and classroom.
• Professional language, courtesy and decorum used while in session, interacting with students, colleagues and building leaders.
• Adequate preparation prior to classroom instruction through submission of weekly lesson plans.
• Attendance at quarterly virtual or in person professional development sessions
• Receiving formal and non-formal evaluative feedback from supervisor and or campus leader.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
