The Employee Relations Assistant is responsible for performing HR related duties and will work closely with the Director of Human Resources. This is a full time, 12 month, on-campus position. Responsibilities:
Perform administrative support for the Human Resources Office; answer phone calls and greet/direct walk-in traffic; prepare various employee correspondence and reports; maintain and monitor the budget; ensure HR website is kept up to date; administer records retention schedule.
Process, verify and maintain up to date personnel files, confidential leave and accommodation files; ensure personnel files are complete and include appropriate documentation; manage new and existing employee checklist process; work with supervisors to ensure understanding of their role in on-boarding and exit of employees; assist in collection of new employee paperwork; assign new hire training and track compliance of; perform verifications of employment; distribute and monitor new hire performance evaluations and track completion of
Manage employee leaves, such as FMLA, disability claims, worker’s compensation and unemployment; coordinate with FMLA or other leave processes as appropriate; report, maintain and monitor claims; perform as liaison between carrier and employee; communicate with employees and managers regarding claims and leaves of absence
Serve as backup to other HR functions and float to other administration offices, as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED required, associate degree preferred; human resources or significant office administration experience may substitute for preferred associate’s degree
Minimum of three years of office experience
