BASIC
FUNCTION:
The Veterans Services Coordinator is a member of the Office of Student Services team, which is a part of the
unit within the Division of Student Affairs. The Veterans Services Coordinator will advocate, provide, and coordinate the necessary
support services for the successful matriculation of Veteran Students. The incumbent will serve as the School Certifying Official in matters
related to the Veterans Administration (VA) and ensure all University processes are aligned with VA requirements. The coordinator will
provide innovative and strategic planning and implementation of the Veteran’s Resource Center at the University.
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position has responsibility or authority, which is limited to the direction of student
workers.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Veterans Services Coordinator brings together students, faculty, staff, and
community Veterans to develop ongoing programming (social, educational, and developmental) for our Veteran community. Developing
co-curricular resources to sustain the program and identify and engage in services that are necessary for our Veteran community.
Additionally, this individual must coordinate a comprehensive and collaborative campus-wide effort to maximize the recruitment,
retention, and graduation of veterans military personnel and support their families. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including
evenings and weekends.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The incumbent performs a variety of administrative functions and
will work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, and students in promoting the student’s academic and personal achievement
within a student-centered environment.
