We are currently seeking a Program Director, Perkins Basic State Grant Program, who will advance the institutionâs proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

Your mission: In this role, youâll assist the AVC Workforce Instruction in implementing and coordinating the Perkins Basic State Grant strategic plan, ensuring that HCC meets all performance metrics of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Perkins grant goals and complies with all applicable federal and state guidelines.
Your work: The Program
The purpose of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant (âPerkins Basic State Grant Programâ) is to provide individuals with the academic and technical skills needed to succeed in a knowledge- and skills-based economy. The grant supports career and technical education that prepares students both for postsecondary education and the careers of their choice.
Highlights
In collaboration with the AVC Workforce Instruction, youâll develop a comprehensive plan with goals and objectives that align with Perkins Basic State Grant Program goals and objectives, and coordinate compliance with the district Grants and Contracts office, PRC office, and all HCC workforce departments.
Youâll provide leadership and comprehensive management for all financial matters related to grant funding schedules; annual grant budget planning, projections and analysis; and the tracking and management of all expenses on the grant, ensuring acceptance and compliance with federal, state and HCC guidelines.
Youâll prepare the annual Perkins Basic State Grant application; plan and coordinate documentation and preparation for the annual state audit site visit; resolve any exceptions; and prepare the collegeâs response to the post-visit audit report.

EDUCATION
Bachelorâs degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field required.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) yearsâ experience in planning and administration of federal and or state grants required, including extensive grant administrative experience in an academic setting to include experience with preparing, coordinating, and managing grants.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to conceptualize and to identify and resolve programmatic and financial matters relative to the grant.
Ability and willingness to travel to multiple college locations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiastic team player, capable of working independently.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to establish and maintain a grant records system for audit purposes.
Self-motivated and detail oriented.
Possess effective organizational skills.
Focused, result-oriented and have strong planning skills.
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft modules.
