The Housing Case Manager assists newly arrived refugees and immigrants enrolled in programs within Refugee Health and Social Services with rental and utility assistance to provide financial resources to assist the client with becoming self-sufficient. This position ensures compliance with financial requirements for enrolled clients. The person must have some competencies in understanding government-issued documentation as well as be able to formalize data in a digestible manner. In addition, the Housing Case Manager will be asked to assist the Housing Coordinator in data entry and review as well as provide overall financial support regarding rent and utility payments. The Case Manager supports the Housing Coordinator with post-arrival coordination, quality assurance, and monthly reporting.
Duties:
· Ensure that rental requests are made and delivered in a timely and accurate manner. · Ensure that Health and Social Service housing team builds and maintains ongoing community relationships with stakeholders in the community such as; apartment complexes. · Supports the Housing Coordinator with pre and post-arrival planning: mapping out financial assistance/case budgeting, securing appropriate housing, purchasing basic necessities, clothing, and food for new arrivals; and arrival notification as well as a lease renewal.
1. Monitor files/leases on an ongoing basis. 2. Monitor and collaborate with client self-sufficiency plans to confirm employment status, regarding future check requests.
· Ensure that all contract compliance requirements are met.· Maintain accurate records of client files, case notes, and reporting records in relation to the client’s housing needs. · Ensures the timely delivery of rental and utility requests are made to the finance department.· Ensures that vacant apartments are utilized for clients in need of housing placement. Required Qualifications and experience at this Level
