Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging processes for clinical staff. Maintains up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems. Monitors licensure for clinical staff and processes new out of state licensure for the NorthStar Solutions Group/Contact Center. May assist with benefits, on-boarding, and coordinating employee programs.
Essential Functions:
1. Compiles and maintains current and accurate data for all clinical staff.
2. Completes provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitors applications and follows-up as needed.
3. Maintains copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, TB tests, Hepatitis B documentation and any other required credentialing documents for all providers. Requests renewals/updates as needed.
4. Sets up and maintains provider information in online credentialing databases and systems.
5. Responsible for reviewing, collecting, investigating and maintaining incoming credentialing and re-credentialing applications in accordance with regulatory guidelines for medical providers and medical facilities.
6. Tracks expiration dates of provider licenses and certifications.
7. Audits system for accurate and up-to-date provider information.
8. Monitors expiration dates of clinical staff licensure and certifications.
9. Coordinates the issuance of out of state licenses for clinical staff that are part of the NorthStar Solutions Group/Contact Center.
10. Conducts required ongoing monitoring on a daily basis, conveys any discrepancies or variances to Director, Human Resources.
11. Assists the HR team as needed, including but not limited to, Benefits, HR files, surveys, compliance, etc.
12. Initiates and maintains relationships with outside sources.
13. Stays current with legislative and regulatory changes that affect human resources. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local legislations including FMLA, ADA, ADEA, OSHA, COBRA, HIPAA and other employment regulations.
14. May assist with recruiting, employee relations and coordinating employee programs within assigned groups.
15. May collaboratively administer, organize, and facilitate training and educational programs in connection with employee orientation.
16. Ensures accuracy and confidentiality of all employee records.
17. Actively participates in activities that promote NorthStar Care Community’s mission in the community.
18. Adheres to organizational Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, protocols and processes and all regulatory and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. A minimum of two (2) years of progressively more responsible work experience in a business office environment required. Credentialing experience strongly preferred. Recruiting and employee relations experience preferred. Human resources (or related field) and/or experience in a heath care organization with responsibility for multiple sites/locations preferred.
3. PHR/SPHR certification or similar professional certification preferred.
4. Must be computer literate, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, HRIS and related reporting systems. Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems preferred.
5. Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of human resources.
6. Knowledge of legislation impacting Human Resources in the workplace including FMLA, ADA, ADEA, OSHA, worker’s compensation, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, etc.
7. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, effective organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills, attention to detail, tact, dependability, emotional intelligence and the ability to promote positive, constructive relationships with communication and collaboration at all levels with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to follow PHI, HIPAA and other security guidelines.
8. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and be able to communicate orally and in writing in internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.
9. Ability to prioritize multiple demands. Demonstrates integrity and flexibility and participates actively in change and quality improvement initiatives.
