Pathways Program is a transfer support program that helps promising high-achieving Liberal Arts students the ability to succeed at HCC and explore transfer opportunities to selective liberal arts colleges such as Mount Holyoke, Smith, Amherst, Williams, and others. The program intentionally fosters student relationships utilizing the holistic approach to offer academic and personal support such as advising, workshops, hosting transfer information sessions with selective college representatives, conducting college visits, and provides assistance with the transfer process to selective colleges for high potential students, especially from underrepresented backgrounds. Pathways Program strengthens relationships and collaborations with its partners among the selective colleges to increase access for students in Liberal Arts and related majors in the Social Sciences Humanities and STEM for successful transfer. It is part of the Integrative Learning Department that focuses on equity-driven initiatives, offering Holyoke Community College students a culturally responsive educational experience that promotes academic success, advancement, and a sense of belonging.

Identifies and recruits high-potential students in Liberal Arts and related majors in the Social Sciences, Humanities, and STEM for selective college opportunities and provides transfer support with research colleges, career exploration, transfer counseling, academic advising, crisis intervention, and support through the selective college transfer process. Develops goals (programmatic and administrative) of the Pathways Program. Provides academic advising to prepare students for transfer to selective liberal arts colleges using EAB Navigate (or other college platforms). Advises students about Integrative Learning (IL) programs (Service Learning- SL, Honors, Learning Communities- LC) and experiential learning opportunities. Coordinates transfer activities for selective colleges, such as transfer info sessions, transfer peer panels, and transfer peer mentoring. Also, maintaining relationships with the selective four-year colleges, arranging visits to selective four-year colleges, and providing up-to-date selective transfer information related to the transferability of credits and scholarships. Works with Integrative Learning program coordinators to provide support for students in integrative learning programs and assist with the selective transfer process. Visit LC, STEM, and Honors classrooms to promote Pathways and IL. Works with the Coordinator of Academic Internships to identify internships for students in the Integrative and Pathways Programs. Collaborates with academic and student support programs (such as TRIO, EL Centro, SAMP, ALANA, and CAPS) to provide student wrap-around support services. Help to develop and maintain the internal HCC connections, partnerships, and systems to identify, recruit, and advise students for selective transfer, including Admissions, ACT, Financial Aid office, staff, and faculty from other departments. Provides college-wide training sessions and workshops during the academic advising period and assists faculty in Program Day for Liberal Arts. Works with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Strategic Analysis to develop and maintain a Tableau dashboard to report the program’s success. Works with the Office of Planning, Curriculum & Assessment to develop and maintain assessment tools to report the program’s success. Works with Marketing and the Academic & Student Affairs Division offices to advertise and promote the program to potential students. Works with the Transfer Coordinator to develop and maintain a referral system for students interested in transfer opportunities to 4-year schools.Works with the Director of Integrative Learning to inform the department’s strategic plan to promote student success to impact the college’s plan. Provides updates and reports (action plans) to the Director of Integrative Learning on the goals, progress, and success of the Pathways program.Strengthens institutional collaborations with Mount Holyoke, Smith, Amherst, Williams, and other selective liberal arts colleges and serve as an HCC representative/liaison with these institutions and attend meetings, plan information events, and campus visits.

Salary Range: Grade 5; Minimum $59,244-$69,336 /year. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State benefits package. Hours: 37.5 hrs./52 weeksFunding Source: State
