HollyFrontier Corporation in El Dorado, KS is seeking a Desktop Support who will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) technical support at the local operational level. The Desktop Support resolves mid level to advanced technical issues to the Company’s IT equipment and conducts technical assignments and projects for the IT Department under minimal supervision. This position will address and support issues related to the local operational IT systems, servers, network, printers and client support. The Desktop Support coordinates hardware and software upgrades at the local operational level.

A minimum of Six years of job-related experience is required.
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field is preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of applications systems and ability to apply this knowledge. Intermediate working knowledge of information systems concepts/design/development, systems development life cycle, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning; decision-making, analytical, and problem solving skills. Conceptual and data analysis skills, advanced reading skills, the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, intermediate reading and writing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Ability to lead to lead projects as required.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Certifications: Microsoft and Cisco certifications (MCDST, MCSA, MCSE, MCP); Network, and software certifications (A+, N+, NET+) are preferred. ITIL Foundation

Office based with up to 30% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery and driver based environment including but not limited to chemical, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to risk of electrical shock. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasionally required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability.
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 lbs, climbing up to 15 ft, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment and a respirator during emergency situations as needed (beards not permitted).
