Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for a Vice President for Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging.
About the Role
The Vice President (VP) for Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging (SSWBB) has responsibility for critical components of the student experience outside of the classroom. In this role, the vice president oversees key areas that contribute to student success, well-being, and belonging including institutional responsibility for all retention efforts and outcomes. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate, envision, and engage community stakeholders in a comprehensive and collaborative vision for student success at Hollins University.

The vice president is a member of the President’s cabinet and must bring an institutional perspective to their work, even as they are the number one advocate for students. It is expected that the VP will have significant experience with, and/or credentials related to, developing programming and addressing issues of emotional and mental well-being that will enable the candidate to oversee all aspects of wellness, including health and counseling services. The VP will have deep experience collaborating with faculty in partnership with Academic Affairs and be willing and able to build durable and dynamic partnerships with all campus constituencies including staff and students.

Candidates should include information on how they’ve led, managed, and succeeded with each of Hollins’ priority areas as follows: promote social connectedness, success coaching, deepen reflective resilience, promote mental health services through a public mental health model, increase help-seeking behavior, culturally-responsive high impact practices, develop life skills, integrated cross-campus collaboration, peer-to-peer and alumnae/i mentorship, and parent/guardian engagement.
