Description:
Hofstra University, a private, nonsectarian, co-educational institution, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position in the Department of Population Health. The successful candidate will join vibrant Master of Public Health and Master of Health Administration Programs to teach, engage in scholarship and serve internal and external communities alongside a multi-disciplinary faculty and a diverse student body with a deep commitment to enhancing social justice.
Hofstra’s CEPH-accredited Generalist MPH Program prepares students for careers as scholar-advocates. We place a high priority on community collaboration, interdisciplinary problem solving, skill application, critical thinking, and teaching students to be good users and doers of research. Hofstra’s MHA on-campus program is CAHME-accredited. For more than two decades, the program has prepared practice-ready health care leaders through the provision and application of a health services knowledge base, communication skills, and leadership development. A recently developed distance learning option has expanded student-learning opportunities.
The Department of Population Health is a vibrant community with over 700 students, 350 undergraduate students in Community Health and Health Science, and another 400 graduate students in our five graduate programs: Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, Health Informatics, and Health Professions Education. The Department of Population Health resides in the School of Health Professions and Human Services, along with three other departments: Allied Health and Kinesiology; Counseling and Mental Health Professions and Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences. Thus, there are many exciting opportunities for inter-professional collaboration.
