WHO YOU ARE

The Network Engineer Tier 3 position is responsible primarily installing, configuring, and supporting firewalls, switches, and routers to ensure network security. The Network Engineer Tier 3 position duties include using their IT knowledge to plan, develop and maintain company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs and aiding employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of network development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and network flexibility.
• Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in network technologies, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
• Ensure network services have sufficient capacity, stability, and agility to satisfy service level agreements with business units.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
• Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote network devices and appliances across the organization’s network.
• Design company LANs, WANs, VMs, virtual networks, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other devices.
• Identify System Requirements, Communicate with Project Stakeholders, Communicate Project Risks and Conflicts, Maintain Project Schedules, and Prepare Progress Reports.
• Troubleshoot and escalate network problems as needed
• Perform network monitoring, analysis, and configuration optimization
• Configuration of dynamic routing protocols (e.g. OSPF and BGP)
• Create Methods of Procedure for production network changes working with vendors and peers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

WHAT WE NEED (Minimum Qualifications)

Education – High School Diploma

Experience and/or Training

• 5 years’ experience (In Liu of Degree) supporting a network environment
• Familiarity with hardware and transmission technologies (e.g., cabling, optical fiber, routing, firewalls, LAN/VLANs switches, etc.)
• Familiar with dynamic routing protocols, specifically OSPF and BGP
• Ability to be an effective team member with strong customer, quality, and results orientation
• Ability to manage time effectively to accommodate work outside of normal business hours
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical individuals and customers

WHAT WE DESIRE (Preferred Qualifications)

Education – Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Experience and/or Training

• Bachelor’s degree + 4 years’ experience supporting a network environment
• 8+ years’ experience (In Liu of Degree) supporting a network environment
• Experience with a leading real estate software system (property management for both residential and commercial/accounting/leasing)
• Experience administering for MRI PMX or similar software
• Appropriate industry certification (CCNA, Network+, Security+ etc)

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

You are occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is in a professional office environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
