Schedule Information: 9:00 am-2:00 pm Monday – Friday (Flexible)
Hours per Week: Up to 29
Benefits: Prorated Sick & Vacation; Holiday Pay; and 2 Harper Tuition Waivers per semester
Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature.
Duties of Position: Provides general reception/clerical support for the Job Placement Resource Center and Apprenticeship Office. Assist students and employers by explaining services, verifying eligibility, scheduling appointments, and assisting in the computer lab.
Provides reception for the Job Placement Resource Center and the Apprenticeship Office. Greets visitors, answers telephone and general inbox emails for JPRC and Apprenticeship Office, provides information, and takes and distributes messages as appropriate.
Schedules appointments and helps maintain SARS system. Pulls routine reports for daily reminder appointment calls to students and follow-up surveys. Assists Administrative Assistant in the department with correspondence to potential apprenticeship students and information tracking.
Reviews and approves new employer registration and job postings in online job management system. Troubleshoots job management access issues for employers and job seekers. Orients students to the job management system and assists students with registration and navigation.
Coordinates on-campus employer recruiting which includes vetting, scheduling and following up throughout the Fall and Spring semester.
Maintains office calendar, JPRC, and Apprenticeship staff schedules.
Sorts and distributes incoming mail.
Supports, directs and supplies information to employers, and students for Job Placement Resource Center and Apprenticeship events.
Assists with social media, projects and mailings.
Assists with JPRC and Apprenticeship with reports and information updates in related databases, and updates documents and materials as needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: High school graduate required.
Experience Requirements: Two years’ general office experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and the internet is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (intermediate level Spanish or higher)
