Our client, an indispensable partner to the construction, mining, forestry, forklift, and industrial machinery markets, is currently hiring a Hardware Engineer, onsite in Warrendale, Pa. This role is a result of growth, all Hardware Engineers are currently housed in the United Kingdom, client has been doing so well in the U.S, Market that sophisticated circuit design and troubleshooting needs to happen close to the product, resulting in the need for local, in-house talent.
The right person for this role needs to have at least 5 yrs. experience in the Design electronics hardware (low power microprocessor-based controllers, high speed communication systems and Ethernet-based networks, Programmable logic design circuits (PLCs), and also Digital circuit design/ Low power analog circuit design).
Key Job Responsibilities:
Design world-class electronics hardware for underground equipment (Design of Low power microprocessor-based controllers, High speed communication systems and Ethernet-based networks).
Programmable logic design /P.L.C. Control and Design (Programming/ Set up, Troubleshooting, etc.).
Digital circuit design.
Low power analog circuit design.
May also troubleshot other Optical/Imaging components and systems, and RF components and systems.
Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to formulate and design innovative products.
Technical ownership for the hardware design projects.
Lead architecture, design reviews with internal teams and suppliers.
Lead various aspects of electronic product readiness including manufacturability.
Perform testing and validation of hardware prior to their release.
Up to 10% of travel is possible.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BS or MS in Electrical, Electronics, Computer engineering or relevant degree preferred.
5 to 8 years’ experience in Electronics hardware design.
Experience successfully leading the development of complex CPU, FPGA and ASIC- based PCBA designs. FPGA experience strongly preferred.
Extensive experience with Schematic capture, PCB layout and circuit analysis applications such as OrCAD, SPICE, eCADSTAR, or Altium (etc).
Strong experience in using electronic test equipment such as Logic, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, Digital Oscilloscope, Multimeter etc.
Experience in the design of autonomous sensors such as lidars, radars, cameras is a plus.
Detail oriented, consistent, motivated self-starter.
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline focused work environment.
Familiarity with safety critical system design and industry standards is a plus.
Knowledge of common machine control sensors, actuators, and other typical control devices.
