Dean of Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design
Employment Terms: This job is a
full time, benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Academic Affairs Division that reports to the Vice President
of Academic Affairs.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience not to exceed $83,000/yr.
Minimum qualifications (Job Code 11407): Master’s degree in a related field *and * Three (3) years of related work
experience.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college
or university in a vocational field or occupational supporting discipline such as engineering, construction management, manufacturing, or a
closely related field. Appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of college accrediting agencies *and* at least three years of
full-time paid work experience within the past seven years in business, industry, education or military environments. Three years of
employment must have been as a full-time instructor. Demonstrated skills in training and/or personnel development. Must demonstrate
excellent written and verbal communications skills. Possess and maintain the appropriate professional credentials required for or
related to the field or position.
Doctoral degree in related area; experience in curriculum development, instructional
methodology, planning, evaluation, budgeting, supervision and management.
Job Description: Under minimal
supervision, coordinates and supervises quality technical programs at a technical college. Plans and organizes the unit’s work to meet the
technical college’s objectives. Directs the division’s academic services. Promotes the instructional programs to public and private
organizations. Reviews and approves all requests for supplies and materials. Manages and oversees the division’s financial/budget
operations. Represents the department at various internal and external meetings. Supervises subordinate employees, setting the example of
accountability for goals and outcomes. May perform all teaching duties as described in the job description for instructors. Essential
functions include planning, directing, operational supervision, program innovation and budgeting for the Engineering Construction
Manufacturing and Design Division.
