We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious individual to take on the role of Healthcare Data Analyst for the physicians’ practices.
The Healthcare Data Analyst establishes and implements the overall data strategy across the organization.
Ensures the successful execution of GVH’s aligned technology vision through deployment of sophisticated data management and analytics methodologies, technologies and IT optimization.
Supports the design and development of innovative analytic solutions that result in actionable information to impact quality, safety, cost and access to care.
Gathers, analyzes and presents information necessary to explain the current state and then also support ongoing business and strategic decision making, as well as to support approved redesign initiatives.
Serves as champion to catalyze the strategic use of data for the improvement of all aspects of patient care and operational efficiencies.
This is a high-profile position that will require working on multiple priorities simultaneously.
Essential Functions:
Manages, develops, improves and maintains reports and dashboards, including statistical/analytic charts that support process improvement and population health projects for the ambulatory practices.
Performs activities related to statistical data analysis, trending, data presentation and benchmarking in order to provide decision support.
Works collaboratively with IT to optimize technology to continually improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting and analytic products.
Serves as an advisor regarding the use of data in clinical, financial and operational improvement activities.
Disseminates accurate, reliable, timely, accessible and actionable information to help actively identify and address opportunities to improve patient care and related processes.
Participates in efforts to enhance the strategic use of data and analytic tools in order to continuously improve processes.
Understands and addresses the information needs of governance, leadership and staff in order to support continuous improvement of patient care processes and outcomes.
Identifies/establishes and implements use of benchmarks to compare performance to with those of best practice organizations.
Maintains appropriate knowledge of clinical and billing systems to allow the appropriate understanding and use of data relevant to GVH’s data systems.
Accesses Grand View Health’s data systems to generate reports that are useful for the analysis of improvement projects on the organization-wide, department and unit level.
Leads analytic initiatives and complex data analyses focused on reporting metrics related to quality improvement, cost trending, modeling, forecasting and utilization.
Analyzes outcomes and resource utilization for specific patient populations as necessary.
Develops knowledge of new payment and regulatory programs in support of future healthcare initiatives, i.
e.
, population health, bundled payments, etc.
Develops insight and conclusions from an analysis of the data/reports and provides those along with recommendations to managers/constituents for use in enhancing departmental and Grand View Health performance.
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of reports and expands content when appropriate.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3-5 years of experience in healthcare, business and/or data analysis.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, set and accomplish objectives in a timely manner.
Strong presentation skills for a variety of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills leading to ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts.
Project management skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with computer programs for statistics and data display.
Ability to work independently within established parameters.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
CPHQ upon hire preferred.
