Job Purpose
The SLS Director of Leadership Training & Development (DLTD) is responsible for managing the portfolio of and seeking new opportunities to partner around program development, design, implementation, and tracking of all non-degree bearing training, some certificate and all non-certificate, custom programs offered through the School of Leadership Studies (SLS) ultimately leading to opportunities for revenue generation. Essentially the DLTD is working under both a business development and account management context.
The DLTD will work with all SLS faculty and staff as well as Gonzaga stakeholders. The primary constituents the Director will work with are the SLS Dean’s Office, the SLS Director of Operations, and the Center for Lifelong Learning specific to the portfolio management of external partnerships and collaborations.
The Director of Leadership Training & Development will work to ensure inspirational leadership and management of all partnership activities to ensure a healthy, safe, vibrant, and engaged culture, within the SLS organization. Some examples of external offerings include: community-based leadership programs, military strategic planning consultations, organizational and community assessments, commercial organization’s professional development, organizational / executive coaching, leadership assessments, webinars, professional conferences, and customized leadership training programs for a wide range of organizations from commercial to military to private to nonprofit. Aspirationally, this position also aims to better connect the School of Leadership Studies and Gonzaga University to the Spokane community primarily, with a secondary goal of establishing thought leadership and community support for BIPOC and underrepresented communities everywhere. The Director is responsible for the following functions.
