The Director of Business Operations role is primarily focused on the operational management and enablement of the US Commercial Digital and Tech (US D&T) organization which, through digital, data and technology products and platforms, services, and solutions, enables GSK’s US commercial business. The role will partner with the US D&T leadership team and the global Business Operations team to drive the US D&T strategy through optimizing and managing the operational aspects of the organization. This role ensures the organization’s operations is in alignment with US D&T strategy and consistent across the teams and has end-to-end accountability for managing all operational processes including resourcing, HR, financial, procurement, communications, and risk and compliance. In addition, this role is Chief of Staff to the VP Chief Digital and Technology Officer, US and Oncology, will work closely with the global Commercial and Medical Digital and Tech teams.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Provide strong leadership to enable the US D&T teams by driving effective operations and practices in product portfolio management, organizational management, budget oversight, and process optimization.
Build and maintain strong relationships and actively engage with peers, stakeholders and senior leaders across US D&T, CMD&T, GSK Tech, Commercial, support functions, and 3rd party strategic partners to maintain alignment with GSK Digital and Tech’s strategy and initiatives. Be able to successfully manage through high conflict and complex situations to ensure critical matters are dealt with appropriately and at pace.
Enable the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization through the implementation and improvement of consistent, simplified operational strategies, processes, and performance management across the organization.
Ensure proper strategies and efficient portfolio management practices, tools and performance measures are in place to prioritize and align on work driven by value delivery with quality.
Drive high performing team behaviors in LT meetings, Stand-ups, F2F, etc. and ensure timely and relevant topics, risks, issues, and updates are raised / discussed with LT and SVP and they are properly supported for key engagements.
Ensure clear, organized information and communications are managed across the CMD&T LT and organization.
Support the management of the overall budget, headcount and vacancies in partnership with Finance to plan, and simplify budget management through enhanced tools and processes.
Partner with Cyber Security and Risk and Compliance to identify and pursue proactive opportunities to improve processes and reduce risks. Ensure alignment with the other Digital and Tech groups by representing US D&T in cross-Digital and Tech community forums and by partnering with Tech leaders, product teams, and other GSK Digital and Tech functions.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 + years in Digital and Technology Management (product owner, product manager, Technical IT manager, portfolio management responsibilities, or program management).
Experience in Digital and Technical strategy development and execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Master’s degree in relevant discipline
Experience in application development management in Agile, Scrum, Dev Ops, and / or SAFE methodology
Extended experience in life science and/or healthcare industries
Experience in cross functional and matrixed teams
Proven proactive, independent, self-starter; ability to drive through ambiguity in a fast moving and dynamic environment.
Excellent collaboration and partnering skills with an ability to gain the respect/buy-in from your stakeholders across GSK.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills, communication skills, and listening skills to be able to present strategic visions and ideas and to drive decision making, issue resolution and achieve alignment across all levels within and outside of the Digital and Tech organization.
Strong planning and organizational skills; strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
