Academic Success Center
Serve as the primary facilitator of educational support programs and initiatives for academically vulnerable student populations, including (but not limited to): Students on Academic Intervention (AI), First Semester Freshmen, First-Generation students, students on Learning Support (LS), student in need of accommodations, and other populations as they are identified by the institution. Support students through the creation, maintenance, and completion of an individual Academic Improvement Plan (AIP). Orient students to applicable University policies and resources. Provide instruction to improve academic outcomes for all students in a variety of formats, which may include (but not be limited to): GSU 1000: Academic Improvement Coaching, small group sessions, presentations, workshops, and teaching FYE 1220. Maintain positive relationships with assigned students, monitor progress, and provide feedback, ongoing support, and accountability.
This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA’s are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University.
