Laboratory Technician (part-time), Lombardi Comprehensive Care Center – Georgetown University

The , part of , seeks to prevent, treat and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community guided by the principle of cura personalis – “care for the whole person.” Georgetown Lombardi is the research engine driving clinical cancer research at MedStar Health in the D.C. Metro area and northern New Jersey.

Job Overview

The Laboratory Technician – in a part-time role – supports the cross-disciplinary mission of the molecular epidemiology laboratory, assisting the ongoing day-to-day research activities in the laboratory that addresses somatic alterations found in tumors from diverse populations.

Reporting to the Lab Director, they interact with and support other Lombardi CCC members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree – preference for Master of Science degree
• Basic molecular biology experience, including work with nucleic acids, and managing and working with human samples
• Interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Work experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
