Job Overview
This individual serves as an Audio-Visual Systems and Computer Technician, accomplishing a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and administration of audio-visual and computer technologies connected to the MSB Network, including PCs, TVs, ceiling-mounted overhead projectors, video editing suites, video-teleconferencing technologies, computer/video projectors, sound systems, microphones, classroom technologies, and camera equipment.
This position will also provide support for these technologies during classes and events. The position requires planning skills, knowledge, and interpersonal skills to provide an environment in which faculty, staff, and students may utilize current technologies to assist in teaching, research, study, and daily administrative tasks.
Work Interactions
Incumbent plays a role in managing, maintaining, providing, and supporting instructional technologies for MSB in addition to providing direct support to faculty, staff, and students. MSB requires a robust and current instructional technologies program that has a broad impact on a day-to-day basis. MSB also requires excellent customer service skills, support, and knowledgeable networking and PC skills on a daily basis. Failure to successfully perform the duties of this office would have a significant and broad-based negative impact on every MSB administrative and academic unit. Incumbent routinely interacts with all levels of MSB administration. All undergrad and MBA students, and with GU University Information Systems. Contact is both formal in policy-forming and technical committees and training as well as informal one-on-one problem resolution and education.
The Instructional Technologies Administrator reports to the Director of IT Operations. The position does not have any direct full-time reports, however, the position is looked to for expert advice by student staff.
