Job Description
As part of Fugro’s newly established Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization, the Fleet Supervisor plays a vital role in coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, and vehicle scheduling for our extensive fleet of 250+ vehicles in the United States. This position collaborates with key stakeholders and external suppliers to maximize the value of our vehicle fleet, including both owned and leased vehicles. The Fleet Coordinator also manages the IVMS system in all vehicles and distributes monthly reports on driver behavior to management.
The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for engaging with business stakeholders to optimize costs within our US vehicle fleet, including both owned and leased vehicles. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating all activities related to company-owned and leased vehicles. The Fleet Coordinator reviews purchase requests for new and replacement vehicles, manages lease agreements, oversees the IVMS system, and distributes monthly reports on driver behavior to management. This position encompasses all Fugro Entities in the US. Success in this role hinges on implementing industry-leading Fleet Management processes and procedures to generate value for Fugro.
Job Responsibilities:
The Fleet Supervisor, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager (with Functional Reporting to the Business Line Director), is responsible for the following:
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
Drive cost reduction initiatives while ensuring the quality and timely delivery of vehicles to the business, both owned and leased.
Manage and update vehicle management records, including leased vehicles, and relevant software systems.
Coordinate with the leasing company to maintain effective communication and adherence to lease terms and conditions.
Provide necessary information to the leasing company regarding vehicle usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Manage the IVMS system in all vehicles, ensuring proper functioning and data collection.
Analyze IVMS data to assess driver behavior and identify areas for improvement.
Generate monthly reports on driver behavior using IVMS data and distribute them to management.
Collaborate with management to develop strategies and initiatives for improving driver behavior and promoting safe driving practices.
Generate reports for management to aid in budgeting and planning, encompassing both owned and leased vehicles.
Optimize fleet utilization by determining the appropriate deployment of owned and leased equipment and facilitating timely transfers to minimize unnecessary equipment purchases.
Conduct timely vehicle inspections, including leased vehicles, as required.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs for both owned and leased vehicles to ensure all vehicles and trailers are clean and in good condition.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations for both owned and leased vehicles and personnel where applicable.
Contribute to the development of best-in-class fleet processes and procedures for both owned and leased vehicles.
Job Requirements:
Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
Minimum five years of experience in Fleet Management and/or Procurement management.
Experience in managing IVMS systems and analyzing driver behavior data.
Preferably, a successful track record in establishing, developing, managing, and innovating a Fleet Management function in a dynamic environment.
Associate degree preferred.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to generate and format fleet inventory reports as required.
Familiarity with various types of rolling fleet stock.
Knowledge of retail and wholesale vehicle pricing is preferable.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair cost is preferable.
Analytical skills to review expenses and invoices and control fleet operating costs.
