Responsibilities
This position manages all aspects of the maintenance and repair of the University’s emergency power supply systems. Responsible for complying with Florida Department of Environmental Protection regulations concerning natural gas and diesel fueled emergency power supply systems. Coordinates inspections, testing, preventative maintenance and repair work with vendors. Responsible for training FSU generator technicians.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years in the same.
(Note: Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.)
Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment, and materials used in area of work.
Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Ability to utilize problem and technical-solving skills.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
A valid Florida or Georgia driver’s license or ability to obtain one prior to hire.
