Responsibilities
Responsible for preventative maintenance tasks and documentation of such for various mechanical systems at Bobby E. Leach Center to include maintaining motors, pumps, filters, steam systems, domestic water system, and a variety of mechanical, electrical, or specialized recreational equipment.
Maintains accurate record keeping, documenting repairs needed, and repairs completed for safe operations. Maintains a daily log from inspections and repairs including a journal of work completed. Notifies supervisors of any facility repair and maintenance issues related to opening and closing procedures.
Repairs, maintains, installs systems and equipment at Campus Recreation facilities. Assists maintenance staff in tasks requiring multiple workers for efficiency and safety. Work will include, but not limited to: system motors, heating, vacuuming pumps, compressors, sump and agitator pumps, and related electrical and mechanical repairs.
Responsible for assisting with repairs and maintenance for pneumatic controls, pumps, and associated wiring for systems of all Campus Recreation facilities. Responsible for assisting with maintenance and repair of various controls, systems, equipment, etc., as required at all Campus Recreation facilities.
Performs various other general trades work, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to two years in same. (Note: Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.)
Ability to meet the physical demands of this position including lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and working from heights of 35 feet.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to utilize problem-solving and technical skills related to the position’s responsibilities to complete assigned tasks.

Anticipated Salary Range
Starting salary at $34,520.00
