Responsibilities
Operates vehicles in support of Solid Waste and Recycling. Maintains a safe, clean, sustainable, and attractive environment for the students, faculty, and staff of our institution.
Operates various types of solid waste collection trucks, front-loader garbage truck, rear lift truck, 2-ton dump truck operates mechanism for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse and recyclable materials for refuse, collection, and transport of waste. Operates compactor and cardboard baler.
Maintains a safe, clean, sustainable, and attractive environment for the students, faculty, and staff of our institution. Pressure washes buildings, steps, sidewalks, and other outdoor areas.
Performs station clean up and miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to loading and unloading cardboard. Operates a forklift for relocating bales of cardboard. Performs duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of the ninth grade. Possession of appropriate driver’s license for the type of vehicle operated.
Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Knowledge of parts, equipment, maintenance and the mechanical operation of motor vehicles.
Skill in safely operating various types of motorized vehicles including but not limited to dump trucks, tractors, forklifts, pallet trucks, front-end loaders, and golf-carts.
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair a variety of equipment and machinery used in area of work.
A valid Class CDL class B driver’s license, may substitute higher Class A license
