Associate or Full Professor of Computer Science Job Description Summary
The Department of Computer Science at Florida
Polytechnic University invites applications for an Associate Professor or Full Professor with broad teaching capacity that supports both
undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees. The Computer Science department is home to the largest undergraduate program in the University
which delivers an ABET accredited degree in Computer Science with specialization areas in Game Development, Cyber Security, Software
Engineering, and Autonomous Systems. Successful applicants must be capable of teaching a range of classes in the curriculum, at all levels,
and ideally would contribute to instruction and research focused in at least one of the following areas Cyber Security, Machine Learning and
Autonomous Systems, Software Engineering, Graphical Interactive Programs.
This position is part of a strategic expansion of the
department that will add approximately four faculty to the current fifteen faculty members that comprise the department faculty. The
department also delivers a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science and the expansion of the faculty will be critical to growing the
size of this graduate program.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop a highly successful teaching and research
program, attract independent research funding, publish the results of their research studies in leading scientific journals of their
discipline, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and to teach effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate level courses. In
addition, the candidates are expected to assist in the education mission of the department and to provide whatever academic service is
requested to
by the Chair of the Department. Job Description
